Manon Ress – Controlled Digital Lending in a Pandemic

Knowledge Ecology International

In the grip of a global pandemic, access to schools and libraries is limited to ensure the safety of all. However, the fundamental functions of libraries in all parts of the world remain unchanged: provide access to knowledge. Lending is and can be done safely and effectively by using “Controlled Digital Lending” (CDL), a practice integrating traditional library practices as well as technological protections measures and digital rights management tools. The lecture will explore the various legal frameworks for CDL.
